This is a scan of a real photo picture postcard of some soldiers from a Spruce Squadron located at Agate Beach, Oregon. The photo was probably taken in 1918. Notice the flivver (Ford Model T) that they are posing on and around. The fellow in the goggles is probably the driver. He is the tenth man from the left side in the picture.
What were the Spruce Squadrons? I'm glad you asked. This is a piece of WW I history that is all but forgotten in the United States. Read about it here.
Very little history remains of these events, and as a postal history collector, I find it difficult to locate letters and cards from these men.
